Reclink Celebrates Harmony Week

Harmony Week

Harmony Week is a time to celebrate multiculturalism and the immense contribution of migrants toward our community. Harmony Week is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all people, regardless of cultural or linguistic background, united by a set of core community-based values.

At Reclink our programs deliver life-changing opportunities for Australians. Through our National Program, we achieve a greater depth of engagement with CALD, indigenous, and LGBTQIA+ and other communities across Australia by providing social inclusion through sports and recreation.

While all our staff will be acknowledging and supporting harmony week at all our events, below are some of the many ways we are celebrating Harmony Week within the community this week.

Year 11 and 12 students from Tyndale Christian School will be attending a camp at the Coorong in South Australia with the Reclink team where they will be living on the traditional land of the Ngarrindjeri Nation. They will be Kayaking through the Mundoo Channel, sleeping under the stars, fishing for their dinner, and having a yarn around the campfire.

The students will be experiencing life to a small degree the life of our Countries First Nations People and learning more about their practices. They will be spending time on the land without modern-day technology and will take part in conversations about the cultures and traditions of each of the participants in the camp.
